Estella: cuerpo de francesa, corazón de española.

Si hay dos ciudades en el Camino, que pasarían por hermanas gemelas, estas podrían ser Estella, en Navarra, y Le Puy en Velay, en la Auvernia francesa.
Incluso hay en Estella una basílica dedicada a la Virgen de Le Puy, y dentro una Virgen María de piel negra, idéntica a la francesa ( hay quien encuentra orígenes templarios a ambas imágenes).
Y mas aun: ambas ciudades se someten a la tutela celestial del Apóstol Andrés.
¿Casualidad?, no, no es casualidad, es simplemente que Estella tiene cuerpo de francesa y corazón de española, y se parecen mucho, mucho, mucho.
Estella tiene un río, el río Ega, que cuando baja con la fuerza de las lluvias de primavera, coge aires de río de aguas bravas, y parece que quisiera acariciar, con la fuerza de un bruto, las calles de la ciudad.
Estella tiene también otra particularidad: un montón de gente acogedora y cariñosa para el peregrino. Y arte arquitectónico, arte en cada esquina.
Estella es bonita y recoleta, y cuando llegas allí después de un largo día de marcha, la verdad...cuesta marcharse.
Pero el Camino es así; continuar cada día, buscar horizontes nuevos, vivir cada día una nueva vida.
En mi tierra, España, llamamos a esto "Gitanear", y es genial. Deberías probarlo.

There are two cities in the Camino, which would pass for twins, as they could be Estella, Navarra, and Le Puy en Velay, Auvergne in France.
There's even a basilica in Estella dedicated to the Virgin of Le Puy, and within a black-skinned Virgin Mary, identical to the French (who finds Templar origins are both images).
And even more: both cities are subject to the heavenly protection of the Apostle Andrew.
Coincidence?, No, no accident, is simply that Estella has a body of French and Spanish heart, and they seem very, very, very much.
Estella has a river, the river Ega, when down with the force of the spring rains, grab an air of whitewater river, and seems to want to touch, with a brute force, the streets of the city.
Estella has also another peculiarity: a lot of friendly people and caring for pilgrims. And architectural art, art in every corner.
Estella is beautiful and secluded, and when you get there after a long day's march, really ... difficult to leave.
But the Camino is so, then continue every day, seeking new horizons, to live each day a new life.
In my country, Spain, we call this "gypsy", and it's great. You should try it.
